The political temperature has become high due to the statement of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Iqra Hasan from Kairana Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Iqra Hasan has claimed that a ‘big leader’ used abusive language against her. He was called ‘Mulli’ and ‘terrorist’ and bad things were said about his family also.
Iqra Hasan did not take anyone’s name, but hinted that a conspiracy was being hatched against her at the behest of a ‘big leader of the area’.

Iqra Hasan had reached the village in connection with the demolition of Shiv-Lakshmi temple.
Actually, Iqra Hasan reached Shiv Lakshmi temple located in village Kurali-Chhapur, where a case of vandalism had recently come to light. She strongly condemned this incident and while addressing the people said, “I have come before you with a very heavy heart. Demolition of a temple or any place of faith is not tolerable.”
The SP MP further said, “With the kind of language used against women’s character, religion and community, are we giving a message to the country that our society is like this? When I won the elections, I was so happy because people of all castes and religions had given me their votes. There was no bigger achievement than this for me.”
Questions are being raised continuously on me- Iqra Hasan
“All the daughters in my area who told me that they also want to move ahead, their steps will waver because of this.” Iqra Hasan said, “Questions are constantly raised on me, but I have never done politics of religion or community. For me, everyone is my own. My family has been in politics for a long time.”
The SP MP said that till date it has never happened that anyone has made personal comments on his family, but now the level of politics has fallen. People may not like my work. If I do not meet any of your criteria, I will not be eligible to ask for votes, but if a girl from your area is moving ahead with courage, should she be abused? Am I not the daughter of your society?
‘Am I not the daughter of your society?’- Iqra Hasan
The Kairana MP said, “I am told that he had changed his religion. My community is included in my blood. If you want, take out my blood, but do not bow the head of my community or me in this manner. It is an appeal to all of you not to say this against me.”
She further said, “It is very easy for me to talk about Muslims. I don’t have to go anywhere for this. Hindus and Muslims are all doing it, it is very easy, but I do not want to do this. You all are my own.”
Those who break society cannot be great men – Iqra Hasan
‘The people who are being given the title of great men these days are not great men who are breaking the society and creating Hindu-Muslim disputes.’
