‘I will become Chief Minister’, Siddaramaiah makes a big claim, DK Shivkumar said

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave strict message to DK Shivkumar and his supporters. Siddaramaiah said that he will remain the Chief Minister for 5 years. Journalists questioned Siddaramaiah whether he would be the Chief Minister for five years, in response to which the senior leader said, “Yes, I will stay. Why do you doubt this? ”

In political circles, especially in the ruling Congress, Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar, there is speculation that the Chief Minister should be changed at the end of this year, citing the power-sharing agreement. Shivkumar, however, had said on Tuesday that there was no discussion on the change of leadership in the state and he insisted on strengthening the hands of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the party’s government in the state.

What did Siddaramaiah say about the change of Chief Minister

Regarding the claims of leaders of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) to change the Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah said, “Are they our high command?” He asked, “R Ashok (Leader of Opposition in the Assembly) is the leader of BJP. BY Vijayendra (President of BJP’s state unit) is the BJP leader. Chalwadi Narayanaswamy (Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council) is the BJP leader. If they say such things, will you write? Should you confirm this or not? ”

There is no dissatisfaction in the party – Shivkumar

Earlier, Shivkumar said in Bengaluru that there is no dissatisfaction within the ruling Congress and when Siddaramaiah is the Chief Minister of the state, there is no need for any dispute on the issue of leadership. After the declaration of the assembly election results in May 2023, there was a tough competition between Siddaramaiah and Shivkumar for the post of Chief Minister and the Congress managed to convince Shivkumar and was made Deputy Chief Minister.

At that time there were some reports that an agreement has been reached on the basis of “serial Chief Minister Formula”, according to which Shivkumar will become the Chief Minister after two and a half years but it was not officially confirmed by the party.
