The work of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists is going on in 12 states of the country including Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, National President of Apna Dal (Kameravadi) and MLA from Sirathu seat Pallavi Patel has opposed the SIR of the voter list. Pallavi Patel made a big announcement on Friday that ‘I will not fill the SIR form.’
In fact, while talking to journalists in Gonda, she said, ‘I will not fill the SIR form and oppose the SIR process. Why should I fill SIR form? I have all the documents. I am a citizen of India, why should I fill the SIR form. I have been voting my whole life, so why should I fill the SIR form now?
Pallavi Patel appealed to the voters
Talking to the press, Sirathu MLA Pallavi Patel appealed to the voters regarding SIR that if you understand the SIR then fill it, otherwise do not fill it. He said that just as women’s reservation remained on paper, SIR too will not come to fruition.
Pallavi Patel told SIR the government’s statement
Pallavi Patel said, “If the form is not filled, then will I be deprived of the election? I have all the valid documents for voting, I do not need any SIR document, on what basis was my name deleted?” Pallavi Patel has called SIR a catchphrase of the government, the government is attacking democracy through SIR.
‘Pressure on BLO inhumane’
Pallavi Patel said that the opposition is attacking SIR because we doubt their intentions. SIR is being conducted in the states where elections are being announced and in the states from where they want more seats. The pressure being given on the BLOs engaged in SIR work is inhuman. On CM Yogi’s order to build a detention center, Pallavi Patel said, if a detention center is being built, what will be the basis for it? And what will be Plan B after that?
