Bangladesh seems to be surrounded from all sides in the T20 World Cup controversy, which is left with no other option but to accept the ICC’s decision. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was repeatedly demanding change of venue. ICC has made its stand clear on this matter. He says that Bangladesh will either play its T20 World Cup 2026 matches in India as per the scheduled schedule or its place will be given to another team.
Bangladesh government’s sports advisor Asif Nazrul was repeatedly giving provocative statements. He even spread the lie that the ICC had acknowledged his security concerns about its players in India. But these claims were later found to be completely false.
Thu-thu in the world of Bangladesh
India has already successfully organized world class events. In such a situation, when the issue of security concerns was raised by BCB, it smelled of lies from the beginning. Now ICC has made it clear that either Bangladesh should take its final decision by 21st, otherwise its place in T20 World Cup 2026 will be given to Scotland.
This clearly means that Bangladesh will either have to play its matches in India, otherwise it will be barred from the World Cup. It is also reported that BCB had expressed security concerns at the behest of Bangladesh government. But ICC has silenced everyone in one stroke.
According to the current schedule, Bangladesh has been placed in Group C. It also includes England, West Indies, Italy and Nepal. Bangladesh has to play its matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.
