ICC has selected Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan for the Player of the Month Award for February 2026. After 14 months, Sahibzada has become the first Pakistani player to win this award, last time Haris Rauf won this award in November 2024. Sahibzada performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2026, he was the leading run scorer. He also became the first player to score two centuries in one edition of the T20 World Cup.
Sahibzada Farhan had performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2026 and made an important contribution in taking Pakistan to the Super-8, although the Pakistani team could not reach the semi-finals. Sahibzada had scored 100 runs on 58 balls in the group stage match against Namibia. He scored his second century against Sri Lanka. In that match of Super-8, Pakistani opener had scored 100 runs in 60 balls.

Sahibzada Farhan had scored a total of 383 runs in 7 matches (T20 World Cup) played in February 2026. Apart from century innings against Namibia and Sri Lanka, he also played important innings against USA (73) and Netherlands (47). Although he was a flop against Team India, he could not even open his account. All-rounder Hardik Pandya had dismissed him in the very first over.
After winning the ICC Player of the Month award, Farhan said, “Winning this award is a great feeling, especially for the performance on a big stage like the World Cup, where fans all over the world keep an eye on every moment. This makes it even more special.”
He further said, “It was truly a tournament that I will always remember. I will try to continue the same momentum in the upcoming series and matches. I am deeply thankful to my teammates for always supporting me and keeping faith in me. Without them, all this would not have been possible.”
