The International Cricket Council had prepared a prize pool of Rs 123 crore for the Women’s World Cup. Team India has received prize money of about Rs 40 crore for becoming champion. This is more than the prize money of the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup. 2023 Men’s World Cup winner Australia got about Rs 33 crore. Not only this, each team has received approximately Rs 30.3 lakh separately for each win in the group stage.
Who got how much money?
The losing team in the final, i.e. the runner-up South Africa, received prize money of approximately Rs 20 crore. The teams that reached the semi-finals, Australia and England, each got a prize money of around Rs 10 crore. Crores of rupees have also been rained on the teams finishing at 5-8 places.
Sri Lanka, at fifth place, and New Zealand, at sixth place, each got a prize money of around Rs 6.2 crore. Whereas Pakistan, which was ranked seventh (Bangladesh) and eighth, both of them have received around Rs 2.5 crore. Each team present in the group stage has received a separate amount of Rs 22 lakh just for participating in the tournament.
