On becoming the champion, all the players were given medals along with the trophy received by the team, Pratika Rawal was also there but she did not get the medal. The rule says that only 15 players who are part of the squad are given medals.
Of course, Shefali Verma played only 2 matches, but she was given a medal because she was part of the team in the final. While Pratika Rawal played more matches than Shefali, she was not given a medal because she was not a part of the team in the finals.
Pratika Rawal confirmed, will get medal
Talking to a channel, Pratika Rawal said, “Jay Shah messaged our manager and told that he wants to make arrangements to bring Pratika’s medal. So now I finally have my medal.”
The medal that Pratika had taken during her meeting with the Prime Minister and the President was given to her by a member of the support staff. Pratika told in this conversation that when she opened that medal, she had tears in her eyes. She said, “I’m not someone who cries easily, but that emotion was real and we felt connected.”
Pratika Rawal told that ICC President Jai Shah had already assured her that she will get the medal, but it may take some time. He said, “You can assume I have my medal, so it is on the way.”
