ICC Man’s Odie Bowling Ranking: South Africa’s left -handed spinner Keshav Maharaj has achieved the top position for the first time in the ICC ODI bowlers rankings on the basis of his brilliant performance. In the first ODI played against Australia, he spent 5 wickets in 10 overs after spending just 33 runs. Thanks to this strong performance, he got the benefit of two places and he has reached number-1 directly.
Big change in ranking
Maharaja is now at the top with 687 points thanks to a great performance against Australia. Mahesh Pratishna of Sri Lanka had to slip down one position and now he is second. Kuldeep Yadav of India has also lost one place and he too has gone to number three.
The latest ICC list is at number four, Bernard Scolts of Namibia, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan at number six, Mitchell Santner of New Zealand at number six, Matt Henry on Seven, Sri Lanka’s Vanind Hasranga on eighth, Ravindra Jadeja of India on ninth and Adam Jampa of Australia on tenth position on ninth. Interestingly, in this top-10, all the players except Matte Henry are spinners. Matt Henry remains in this list as the lone fast bowler.
300 international wickets completed
Keshav Maharaj has achieved another major achievement in this match. He has become the first spinner bowler to take 300 international wickets in the history of South Africa.
His name has 203 wickets in 59 Tests, 63 wickets in 49 ODIs and 38 wickets in 39 T20 international matches. In this way, his total figure has been 304 wickets.
Place in the list of veterans
However, he is still far behind in the case of South African bowler who took the most wickets. At the top of this list, Sean Pollock is named 823 wickets. Pollock took 421 Tests, 387 ODIs and 15 T20 wickets in his career.
