PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday that the final decision on the participation of Pakistan team in the upcoming T20 World Cup will be taken by the country’s government. This statement has come at a time when Bangladesh has been thrown out of the tournament. Mohsin Naqvi said in the press conference that this matter will be placed before Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently out of the country and a decision will be taken on it after his return. Let us tell you that in place of Bangladesh, Scotland has now been included in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Mohsin Naqvi said while talking to journalists, “The government will decide whether we will play the T20 World Cup or not. Our Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is currently out of the country. We will consult him upon his return. The government’s decision will be final and binding. If the government ‘refuses’ then ICC can invite some other team.”
Pakistan team will play its matches in Sri Lanka

If Pakistan team goes to the semi-finals then its semi-finals will also be held in Sri Lanka. Injustice has been done to Bangladesh- Mohsin Naqvi
Describing Bangladesh as a ‘big stakeholder’ of world cricket, Naqvi said that the ICC has behaved unfairly with it in this matter. He said, “Bangladesh is a big stakeholder of world cricket and injustice has been done to them in this matter. I had made the same point in Wednesday’s meeting also. There are many reasons behind their situation, which I will reveal when the time comes.
The PCB chairman also raised questions on the ICC’s decision-making process and alleged that ‘one member country’ was exerting undue influence. Naqvi said, “A country is imposing decisions. When the ICC facilitated the change of venue in the cases of Pakistan and India, why was the same not done for Bangladesh? Our policy and stand is absolutely clear. When the time comes and the government takes a decision, everyone will be aware of it. We are not under the ICC, but are answerable to our government. After the return of the Prime Minister, the same will take the decision and we will follow the instructions of the government.”
