ICC took action, Haris Rauf suspended for 2 matches, Bumrah and Suryakumar also measured, matter related to Asia Cup

ICC has banned Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf for 2 matches. The ICC match referee panel heard all three matches played in the Asia Cup between India and Pakistan. In this hearing, Haris Rauf was found guilty of Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct, due to which he has been banned for 2 matches. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Sahibzada Farhan have also been punished.

Haris Rauf suspended for 2 matches

The first incident happened on 14 September during the India vs Pakistan match. Rauf was fined 30 percent of his match fee and given 2 demerit points. In the Super 6 match, Rauf abused the Indian opening batsmen, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma and also tried to fight with them. While being trolled by the Indian fans, he made provocative gestures while fielding. This time again he was fined 30 percent of the match fee and 2 demerit points.

Let us tell you that if a player gets 4 demerit points in a span of 24 months, he is banned from one Test or 2 ODIs or 2 T20 matches. Therefore, Haris Rauf has been banned from the first 2 matches of the ODI series against South Africa.

Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav got punishment

Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav was also found guilty of Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct, like Haris Rauf. He was also fined 30 percent of the match fee and given 2 demerit points. If Suryakumar Yadav gets two demerits again, he may also have to face suspension along with Haris Rauf.

Sahibzada Farhan was let off with a warning for gun celebration, but also got one demerit point. In response to Haris Rauf, Jasprit Bumrah had made a gesture like dropping a plane. For this he was also let off with a warning, but like Farhan, he too got one demerit point.
