The situation in the Gulf countries is not improving. Students are also becoming victims of the ongoing tension between America, Israel and Iran. Now the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has decided to cancel the ICSE and ISC board examinations of 2026 to be held in the United Arab Emirates i.e. UAE. After this decision, the exams of thousands of class 10 and class 12 students studying there will no longer be held on time. The board has taken this decision keeping in mind the safety of the students.
Actually, ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations were to be held in CISCE affiliated schools between March 2 to March 14, 2026. But considering the situation in the area, the board had earlier postponed these examinations. In separate notices issued on March 1, March 3 and March 6, the board had informed the schools that the examination is being postponed for the time being. Now after reviewing the situation again, the board has taken a big decision and canceled the entire examination.
Exams from March 16 to April 6 also canceled
In the circular issued by the board, it has been said that not only the earlier postponed examinations, but all the remaining examinations to be held between March 16 and April 6, 2026 will also not be conducted. This means that the traditional method of board examination will not be applicable this year for the students of all CISCE affiliated schools of UAE.

The main reason given was security
CISCE has said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the situation in the area. The board has said that the safety of students, teachers and employees associated with the examination is the biggest priority. Before taking a decision on this matter, the board also discussed with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and officials of the Indian Consulate in Dubai. After talking to all of them, it was decided that considering the well-being and safety of the students, canceling the exam would be the right step.
How will the results be prepared now?
After the cancellation of the examinations, the biggest question was how the results of the students would be prepared. CISCE has clarified that the result of UAE students will be prepared on the basis of a special alternative assessment system. However, complete details of this system have not been revealed yet. The board has said that it will soon be told on what basis the marks of the students will be decided.
Dissatisfied students will get a chance
The board has also clarified that if any student is not satisfied with the marks obtained from the alternative assessment, he will be given another chance. Such students will be able to appear in the improvement examination to be held later. This examination will be conducted in 2026 only, but its dates will be announced after the results are declared.
Instructions given to schools
The board has instructed the principals of all CISCE schools present in the UAE to communicate this decision to students, parents and school staff. They should also be told what the further evaluation process will be and how their results will be given to the students.
