Sunil Shetty reacted to flop films
He said, ‘I had a film Arzoo which was almost completed. But due to some dispute between the producer and the director, that film got shelved. So as a newcomer it was a big shock for me. But I think that then we used to think and now people are forced to think. There was never any stress then. I took it as an acting academy and somewhere along the way I learned something new. But in today’s times it is not so. Today’s children talk about depression. But I took it positively.
Sunil further said, ‘I have done somewhere around 120-130 films, so perhaps 50 percent of them will be flops, but somewhere we have to prepare ourselves. One has to see why films are flopping. Am I consistently delivering the same content? What am I doing that the films did not work? You cried, expressed yourself. There is a time period. There are some people who carry such feelings for months. But if you are mentally strong and reduce that period then things become fine. But if I decide that I will stand on my feet as soon as possible, then that happens.
Box office is just a number – Sunil Shetty
Sunil further said, ‘As I said, it has been 10 years since I have given any such film. But if Sunil Shetty is relevant today, it is because of his mindset. I believe I have a lot to offer. Not box office. Box office is number one. It is humanity that makes a journey beautiful. I have been true to my work and people.
Sunil Shetty said this about comedy roles
Sunil Shetty talked about manipulation and comedy. Sunil said, ‘When it comes to comedy, you have to do it from your soul. Because it is very difficult to make people laugh. I’m a poker face actor. So for me it is very important to have a good director, good script, good co-actors. Only then can I deliver comedy. At the same time, you do not know the state of mind of people. I think if this is the most difficult performance, it will be manipulation. Doing comedy. making people laugh. I think it is very difficult to keep people engaged.
Your character in Dhadkan was Negevite and you also received an award. On this question, Sunil said, ‘I think it is debatable. If a boy loves a girl 10 times more then how can he be negative? Don’t know why I got a negative award. I don’t consider it negative. That was the first award of my life. People used to say that you don’t know acting, so I said, take whatever is coming to you. Rest, I consider myself a hero in Dhadak.
