Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia issued a notification on Tuesday, February 24, refuting the post viral on social media in which it was talked about marriage of boys and girls. The university claims that the viral post is completely ‘fake’ and the university has no involvement in it.
In fact, a post from Jamia had gone viral claiming that the university will arrange the ‘Nikah’ of any boy or girl seen together during the holy month of Ramzan.
Fake notification was issued on 20 February
Jamia Millia Islamia has issued a notification saying that the alleged information of February 20 is ‘completely fake’ and no such instructions have been issued by the university authorities.
According to the official statement, the administration has urged students and staff not to take the message seriously, as it appears to be aimed at tarnishing the image of the institution. University officials said that a complaint has been lodged with Delhi Police regarding the circulation of fake notices.
Fake notice was spread badly
The information about who made this post viral has not been revealed yet, but within some time the post spread like wildfire on WhatsApp and X. Some students and social media users even accepted it as real and started criticizing the university. On the other hand, some people started enjoying the university. However, as soon as the statement of the administration came out, the matter changed and it was found that this notice was fake.
The management believes that this could be a conspiracy by someone to tarnish the image of the university. A complaint has been lodged with the police against unknown persons. Now the cyber police is trying to locate the main post and find out its IP address.
