The Asia Cup is currently running against the league stage in 2025. This time both India and Pakistan teams have been kept in Group A in the Asia Cup. India has won the first match against UAE, while Pakistan defeated Oman in their first match. Even if Team India is refused to play against Pakistan on the last occasion, India can still reach Super-4 of Asia Cup.
India needs to win two out of three matches in the league stage. India has won against UAE. Apart from Pakistan, Team India will also have a match with Oman and if the Indian team defeats Oman, then without playing with Pakistan, it will easily qualify for Super-4. The net run rate (NRR) is +10.483 only after winning a match of India.
Two teams from Group-A will arrive for Super-4. If apart from India, Pakistan also reaches Super-4, then Pakistan will stand once again in front of Team India and if India has to reach the final of Asia Cup 2025, then it may be necessary to defeat Pakistan on that stage.
BCCI shared the post
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared a video on X before the India-Pakistan match, in which the players of Team India are seen practicing. The caption is given with this video, ‘All is set and we are ready to roar’. Before the match, so far, Team India is allowed to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup by the Government of India and the BCCI and no decision has been revealed to cancel the match. From this, it is evident that India-Pakistan match will be held in Dubai at 8 pm Indian time.
