Ada Sharma’s film ‘The Kerala Story’ was awarded two National Film Awards this time. The film received the National Award for two categories- Best Direction and Best Cinematography. However, many celebrities questioned the National Award by calling the film as a controversial. Now ‘The Kerala Story’ actress Ada Sharma has given a befitting reply to the people who are criticizing for the award without naming.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Ada Sharma said- ‘Everyone has the freedom to express their opinion. I think it would have been shame not to make this film. I have met 25 girls who have gone through this dreadful phase. This film is a light form of his experience. I was very nervous about watching his film, but thankfully he liked the film very much. After meeting those girls, I felt that it is my responsibility to tell their story.

‘I have no shame in saying that …’
Ada Sharma further said- ‘If it is shameful to tell the truth, then I have no restraint. I am not ashamed to say that I am against terrorism. Those who are calling it embarrassing, I think he has hurt one of his veins and I do not think that the veins are injured by lies. Ada further said about ‘The Kerala Story’- ‘There is no mention of any political leader or party in it. For me, this is the story of girls who are smuggled, they are brainwashed and are forced to become a terrorist. I am standing with these girls.

Finally, the actress says- ‘If it is political, then it is true. I can’t see it from any other perspective. I have to stand with the truth.

The film ‘The Kerala Story’ released in 2023 was directed by Sudipto Sen. Made in a budget of just 15 crores, this film earned Rs 303.97 crore at the worldwide box office. Actresses like Ada Sharma, Yogita Bihani and Shalini Unnikrishnan were seen in this blockbuster film.
