Putin on Saturday (December 27, 2025) gave a stern warning to Ukraine, saying, ‘If Kiev does not want peace, then Russia will achieve the goals of all its special military operations through military power.’
According to the report of Russia’s government news agency TASS, President Vladimir Putin made this statement after visiting a command post of the Russian Armed Forces and a few hours before an important meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida, USA.
President Putin claimed
President Putin said that we are taking forward the work of creating a buffer zone on the Russia-Ukraine border. He also claimed that Russian forces are making advances on the entire frontline in Donbass and Zaporizhia area. Putin made these comments after meeting Russia’s General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov and commanders of various battle groups.
Ukraine does not want to end the war soon – Putin
According to the TASS report, during a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff and various commanders, President Vladimir Putin was also briefed about the capture of Gulyopol in the Zaporozhye region and Dmitrov in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The report also said that President Putin and General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov have indicated that Ukraine’s leadership is in no hurry to end this war peacefully.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated that the areas captured by Russia during the four-year war and the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) are red lines for Ukraine. Whereas before meeting with US President Donald Trump in Florida, Zelensky said that any major decision on these issues should be taken only after involving the people of Ukraine.
