A long time has passed since the Russia-Ukraine war, but the war going on between the two countries is not ending. In such a situation, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday (November 27) warned Ukraine that Kiev is not in any hurry to end the conflict between the two countries through peaceful means. If Ukraine does not want to resolve the conflict peacefully, Russia will achieve all the goals through its special military operation.
Reuters quoted the government news agency Tass as saying that this statement came a day after Russia dropped about 500 drones and 40 missiles on Kiev in the early morning, killing at least one person and injuring about 27 people.
Zelensky and Donald Trump meet
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday, where the two leaders will hold further talks to end the nearly 4-year-old conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Zelensky said that the 10-hour bombing of Kiev and its surrounding areas was Russia’s response to our peace efforts. The two leaders plan to discuss a range of matters, including security guarantees and regional issues in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.
What did the Canadian PM say?
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Saturday that Ukraine needs a willing Russia to establish lasting peace, as he condemned the barbarity of Russia’s recent attack on Kiev, news agency AFP reported. He said the conditions are favorable for a just and lasting peace, but it requires Russia’s consent, and the barbarity we witnessed overnight shows how important it is to stand with Ukraine.
The Prime Minister of Canada announced economic assistance of 2.5 billion Canadian dollars (1.82 billion US dollars) for Ukraine. He said that this money will help in raising international funds to start the process of reconstruction of the country, as the conflict is still going on.
