If the 2000 note has been kept in pocket so far, then RBI report will surprise

2000 rupee note update: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has informed about a huge decline on the trend of Rs 2,000 notes. By September 30, 2025, the total value of these notes has come down to Rs 5,884 crore. When the withdrawal of the note was announced in May 2023, they were priced at Rs 3.56 lakh crore, which shows a huge decline in today’s current situation.

However, the circulation of withdrawing these notes has already been released. Nevertheless, a 2,000 rupee note is still maintaining the status of legal tender. Which means that you cannot use them in everyday life. But it can still be used in paying loans and in financial matters.

2000 notes were issued after demonetisation

In November 2016, the central government decided to close 500 and 1000 rupee notes. After this decision of montization, RBI had printed notes worth Rs 2000 to meet the needs in the country. However, according to the RBI, it was decided to close it once the target was completed and the second price notes were printed in sufficient quantity. In 2028-19, printing of 2000 rupee notes was stopped. Let us tell you that most of the 2000 notes were released before March 2017. The age limit of these notes is also being completed.

How can the note change?

The people of the country have been given full opportunity to replace these notes of 2000 rupees from the RBI. By October 7, 2023, you could go to any bank and deposit 2000 notes or get the notes changed. However, this date has already passed quite the first. To change the notes of October 9, 2023 to 2000, you can change your notes by going to any 19 Corporation office of RBI. Along with this, you can send 2000 notes to RBI’s corporation office through post and get the money changed by giving information about your bank account.
