Through Ayushman Card, eligible families can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh every year in government and private empaneled hospitals. Till now, this scheme has provided relief to lakhs of people and many serious diseases have been treated without any expense.

But if the limit of your Ayushman card has been reached. So now you will not be able to get the facility of free treatment immediately. This limit is decided according to every financial year and is renewed again after the completion of one year.

This means that when the new financial year starts. Then your Ayushman card limit will be reset. Only then will you be able to avail the facility of free treatment again. Till then you will have to bear the cost of treatment yourself.

If your treatment is stopped midway after the limit is reached. So you may have to take special permission from the health department. In some cases, the department may also give you extra help after seeing the serious situation. However this is subject to approval.

For this you should contact the administrative department of your nearest government or private empaneled hospital. From there you can know what is the process of obtaining permission and what documents will be required.

Keep in mind that the information related to limit and renewal of Ayushman card may also differ state wise. Therefore, for correct information, it would be best to contact the Ayushman helpdesk of your district’s health department or hospital.
