Farmer leaders met with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan at Pusa campus of Delhi. Farmer leaders from different states of the country thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi during this period. He said that if India had done a trade deal with America, the farmers would have been ruined. PM Modi has responded to Donald Trump in his language.
‘America does not have enough strength to defeat us’
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said about the pressure of America’s tariff that India is not afraid of anyone, even if it is America. He said, “There is not enough strength in America to defeat us. Farmer brothers do not need to worry at all. The government is with them. India is such a big market. Everything will be made here. We have more population than Europe and America.”
‘If this agreement was reached, we would have been ruined’
Farmer leader Kripa Singh Nathuwala said, “We were very worried about American pressure on the trade deal. If this agreement was reached, the farmers would have been ruined, but the Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister took a tough decision in the interest of the farmers. This is proud of the farmers of Punjab and the entire country. I tell all the citizens, farmers and traders that I will not harm anything.
PM keeps the interests of farmers up and the farmer leader
MSP Committee member and National President of Indian Farmers’ Society, Krishna Chaudhary said in a conversation with IANS that farmers from the states of the country were present in the program. He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said on the trade deal issue of India and America that I can go to any extent to protect the interests of my farmer brothers, cattle, fishermen. This is immense happiness among the farmers of the country. This message went all over the world that Prime Minister Modi keeps the interests of his farmers at the top.”
‘All apprehension has been overcome by PM’s statement’
Krishna Chaudhary said that farmers have come united to express their gratitude to PM Modi. Dharmendra Malik, National Spokesperson of the Indian Farmers Union, said that the country’s farmers were in fear for three months that the PM could compromise the interests of farmers in India and America trade agreements. He said, “In such a situation, the farmers of the country should be protected. A letter was also written for this, but the apprehension of the PM was removed.
