According to PTI report, after the incident in Venezuela, India on Saturday night (3 January 2026) advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel there in view of the situation in Venezuela. The ministry issued this advisory in view of the developments related to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by the US. The Ministry of External Affairs has also asked all Indians present in Venezuela to exercise utmost caution and limit their movement.
“In view of the recent developments in Venezuela, Indian citizens are strictly advised to avoid all non-essential travel there,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. “Indians who are in Venezuela for any reason are advised to remain extremely cautious, limit their movements and remain in touch with the Indian Embassy in Caracas,” the statement said.
