Ayan Mukherjee’s film ‘War 2’ was released on August 14 this year. There was a huge hype about the film. People had expected that the pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR would create a storm at the box office but after the release of the film, exactly the opposite happened. Now the Telugu distributor of ‘War 2’, Naga Vamsi, has broken his silence regarding the loss incurred from the film and made a big revelation.
Yash Raj Films returned 18 crores
Well-known producer of South Industry, Naga Vamsi was the Telugu distributor of ‘War 2’. He had created a lot of hype about the film in the pre-release event held in Hyderabad. Producers seemed quite excited about Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut.
Now in his special conversation with Great Andhra, the producer has given clarification about the failure of the film and his loss. After ‘War 2’ performed average at the box office, rumors started flying that Naga Vamsi had invested Rs 100 crores in it.
The Telugu distributor of the film has broken its silence on this. He said, ,Everyone on Twitter keeps speculating about how much I have suffered from War 2. I bought it for 68 crores. With this I got shares worth Rs 35-40 crores. Yash Raj Films called me to return Rs 18 crore. I had already put forward the condition. Despite being a Bombay based company and a commercial production house, he stuck to his word and returned the amount. That,s why I hardly faced any loss here. ,
‘Our net in Telugu should be bigger than Hindi…’
The pre-release event of ‘War 2’ was organized in Hyderabad. Here Naga Vamsi had created amazing hype for the release of the film and the Bollywood debut of Jr NTR. In his speech, the Telugu distributor of ‘War 2’ even said, ‘Our net in Telugu should be bigger than Hindi and it will have to be made ten times bigger than the opening of Devara. Anna has lifted his collar for us today and we have to ensure that he can do the same across India.
‘If you watch this film and are not satisfied, I will never ask you to watch my films again.’ After the box office collection results of ‘War 2’ came out, people started talking about the loss caused by Naga Vamsi’s film.

This spy action film of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR was released on 14 August. Kiara Advani was seen in the lead role in the film. Talking about its collection, it earned Rs 364.35 crore worldwide, while its earning at the Indian box office was Rs 185.13 crore according to Bollywood Hungama.
