‘If we make a trade deal with China, we will impose 100% tariff’, Donald Trump now threatens this country

US President Donald Trump has issued a major threat to Canada. He said that if Canada signs any kind of trade deal with China, the United States will impose 100 percent tariff on it.

Trump took a dig at the Canadian Prime Minister and called him the Governor of America. In fact, even at the beginning of his tenure, Trump had described Canada as the 51st state of America. Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social and wrote, ‘If Governor Carney thinks that he will make Canada a ‘drop off port’ for China, from where China will send goods and products to America, then he is deeply mistaken.’

100% tariffs on Canada if deal is made: Donald Trump

Trump threatened the Canadian Prime Minister and said, ‘If Canada makes any agreement with China, then 100% tariff will be immediately imposed on all Canadian goods and products coming to America.’

Trump’s anger erupts after PM Carney’s remarks

The warning from Donald Trump has come at a time when discussions are going on about a trade deal between North American countries and China. Earlier, the US President had strongly criticized Canada for opposing the proposed ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense project on Greenland, which he claims would also protect Canadian territory.

This anger of Trump has erupted after the comments of Canadian Prime Minister Carney at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where, without taking Trump’s name, he condemned the pressure put on small countries by big powers. After the comments in Davos, the US President had withdrawn the invitation from PM Carney to join the Peace Board, which he is forming to resolve conflicts at the global level.
