Actually, a technical problem occurred during the landing of Air India Express flight IX 936. The hard landing caused serious damage to the nose wheel of the aircraft, due to which the runway had to be closed immediately. Due to this incident, about 20 flights have been diverted to other airports.

According to the airport management, operations can be started again in the next 3 to 5 hours after the runway is cleaned and the investigation is completed.
