
Things like pizza base, burger bun, bread or naan look simple, but they are made from flour. Flour gets converted into sugar very quickly in the body, due to which blood sugar increases rapidly. Instead of this, take multigrain or whole grain rotis and bread.

Sweet curd or fruit curd available in packs looks healthy, but there is a lot of sugar hidden in it. Which is very dangerous for your health. In such a case, take plain curd or Greek yogurt instead, add some fresh fruits or cinnamon to it.

As soon as we hear fruit juice it seems that it will be good for health. But when fruit juice is made, its fiber is removed and only fructose remains. Even if the smoothie contains banana, honey or sweetened milk, it can be more harmful. In such a situation, eat whole fruits. Drink juices and smoothies only occasionally.

Cornflakes, chocolate cereal, granola bars, all these things are very sweet and are full of refined sugar and carbs. Instead of these, choose desi and low-sugar options like dalia, oats, poha or upma.

Samosas, pakoras, chips and packet snacks are very common, but they are loaded with oil, carbs and salt. Instead, eat roasted gram, peanuts or air-fried snacks.

Avoid eating sugar free biscuits and sweets. Many people think that if it is written sugar-free then it is good for diabetes. But these often contain sugar alcohols, which can affect blood sugar and cause stomach upset. Therefore, eat homemade sweets like dates, coconut and dry fruits.

Full fat dairy i.e. whole milk, creamy paneer or cheese are delicious in taste but they contain more saturated fat which increases insulin resistance, instead consume toned milk, skimmed milk and light paneer.

Apart from all this, white rice should also be avoided. Rice is the main part of our Indian diet. But the glycemic index of white rice is very high, which increases blood sugar rapidly. In such a situation, use grains like brown rice, millet, jowar, or quinoa.

Cakes, pastries and sweets are also dangerous for diabetic patients. Who doesn’t like sweet food, but cakes, muffins and bakery items contain a combination of sugar, flour and trans fat. In such a situation, eat dark chocolate or homemade sweets made of oats and almonds instead.
