Speaking at the national seminar organized by Al Mahd-al-Ali on the contribution of Muslims in India’s development, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that Muslims love India, but it does not mean that they should turn away from their religion. He said that Muslims have always contributed to the development of the country and will continue to contribute in the future also.
Owaisi said, “A person remains loyal to the land of his ancestors. We are loyal to India. Prophet Muhammad had said that loyalty to the country is the nature of Islam. We love our country and our Constitution gives us the freedom to practice our religion.”
Owaisi counted the contribution of Muslims
Remembering the contribution of Muslims in the development of the country, many names were counted. Brigadier Usman, Abdul Hameed, APJ Abdul Kalam, Salim Ali, Syed Zahir Qasim, Ibrahim Ali, Anwar Baksh Siddiqui, Advocate Hasan Manna Qureshi, Sami Saud, Ihtesham Hussain, Ubaid Siddiqui, Azim Premji, Yusuf Ali, Fatima Shaikh, Rabia Shahnawaz Shaikh and Tajammul who provided ventilator facilities during Covid. And Muzammil Taufiq and Hussain Pathan.
‘We did not throw the shoe’
Owaisi said, “Our mosque was martyred, but the Supreme Court says that no one was martyred. If you suppress Muslims, then how will you take India forward? We love the country, that is why we did not throw the shoe after the court’s decision.” Referring to historical injustices, he said, “8 lakh Muslims were deported to Bangladesh in 1962. The 1969 riots in Assam were worse than 2002. We have been witness to many injustices and riots. After the Babri Verdict, no one threw a shoe at the judge.”
‘Those who could not build a room in the Madrasa’
Owaisi said that efforts to make Muslims second class citizens will never succeed. He further said that those who could not build a room in the Madrasa are making ammonium nitrate. We will have to stand against such people also. He appealed to all the citizens to unite and said that everyone will have to work together for the development of the country.
