The screening of Second Wind at IFFI Goa 2025 made the audience really emotional because it is not just a film – it is a real-life story of four real women athletes. The director did not cast any actor, because according to him, no actor can experience the journey of 10–13 years of running or swimming in 5–6 months of training. That is why the authenticity of the film comes only from real athletes. This film was a healing process for the director—and for him and the actresses too. His daughter Mallika, who is also a swimmer in real life, has brought her real experience to the film too. Pain, comeback, fall, rise—Second Wind is born from these emotions. The core message of the film is simple but powerful. Full stop does not end – a new story begins from there. Like SRK had said, “Picture is still pending, my friend”. The film got tremendous response at IFFI. Even the cinematographer from Australia said, “I never thought a film can be made like this.” Realistic shooting, zero glamour, no pretentious drama—just an honest and heart-touching storytelling. In the director’s words, “Second Wind is for those who have ever felt a fall in life. If you are hopeful, you are the strongest.” The film is soon going to be released on international flights, selected theater release and a big OTT platform. The director also wrote his own book, the film Second Wind – a sincere, real and inspiring film which shows that the second chance of life is never too late.
