There is big news for students who dream of admission in the country’s largest and prestigious higher education institutions. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has started the online registration process for IIT Jam 2026 exam from today. This is a golden opportunity for students who want to get admission in postgraduate programs like MSc, MSc-PHD dual degree or integrated PhD.
The registration process will be completely through Joaps portal (joaps.iitb.ac.in). Candidates can also get all the information related to the application by going to Jam2026.Iitb.ac.in. The last date to apply has been fixed at 12 October 2025.
How long will the application be?
According to the schedule issued by IIT Bombay, the registration process will run from 5 September 2025 to 12 October 2025. Within this period, the candidates will have to fill the form and submit it. Late applications will not be accepted.
What should be kept in mind?
Every candidate will be allowed to submit only one application form. Whether he wants to appear in the exam of one or two subjects.
The form can be rejected by applying more than once.
It is necessary to give personal email and mobile number for registration. All necessary information and updates will be sent to them.
Documents required for application
1. Marksheet or Certificate of Class 10 – to confirm the date of birth and identity.
2. Photograph – Recent color passport size photo, with white or light colored background. The photo size should be between 50 kb to 200 KB and uploaded in JPEG/JPG format. Keep in mind that the photo should be clean and clear, there should be no shade, mask or dark glasses on the face.
3. Signature – Signature made with black or deep blue ink on white paper. It has to be scanned and uploaded from JPEG/JPG format (50 kb to 150 kb).
4. Category Certificate-For OBC-NCL, EWS, SC and ST candidates. This certificate should be after 1 April 2025 and it is necessary to be in the prescribed format.
5. Divyang Certificate – PWD candidates will have to submit a valid certificate.
how to apply?
- First go to the official website jam2026.Iitb.ac.in.
- Enter and register by entering your name, email ID, mobile number and password.
- After the completion of the registration, an enrollment ID and OTP will be available, with the help of which the candidates will be able to login.
- Go to the Joaps portal and fill the application form.
Upload all the documents sought (photo, signature, proof of date of birth, category certificate). - Submit the prescribed application fee online.
- After checking all the information, submit the application form and take out the printout of it.
