Pakistan gets 668 crore
Pakistan has been approved by the Asian Development Bank, a package of Rs 668 crore amidst strict opposition from India. Pakistan is being given this package by ADB to improve its fiscal status and improve public financial management. However, India expressed deep concern over this move of ADP and protested and cited the increasing defense spending there.
It has been clearly told to ADB from India that Pakistan can misuse such funds. Citing its declining GDP, India said that where the tax collection in Pakistan’s GDP ratio was 13 percent in 2018, in 2023, it is reduced to 9.2 percent now.
Pakistan’s cry on international forums
It is worth noting that earlier India also strongly opposed the loan from the IMF. India said that in the priority of the Government of Pakistan, there is a complete influence of the army on the economic reform.
