According to the Reuters report, in a letter sent to the Civil Aviation Ministry on Sunday, the company wrote that the calculation of more than Rs 50 billion ($ 591 million) annually due to the shutdown of Pakistan has been done. In such a situation, Air India has requested the Government of India for ‘subsidized model’ according to this loss.
This letter states, “Subsidy for affected international flights is an excellent, verified and right option.” The subsidy can be removed as soon as the situation improves. Due to the shutdown of the aircraft, there is more impact on the company due to high fuel consumption and additional crew members.
Conversation on Chinese alternative routes
Earlier, government officials had requested Air India officials to evaluate the consequences of air space closure on Indian aviation companies. India is engaged in finding alternative measures to reduce the impact of Pakistan’s air space closure on aviation companies.
