Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was lodged in Pakistan’s jail on Saturday (September 6, 2025), attacked Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, alleging that he was resorting to atrocities to strengthen his rule.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief patron Khan has accused Munir of implementing unannounced martial law, stealing the mandate of the people in the last February election and has accused him of establishing a puppet government under the leadership of Shahbaz Sharif and torturing his party workers.
Atrocities against us are increasing: Imran
Khan said in a post on X, ‘Today Asim Munir is torturing the people of Pakistan to strengthen his rule, which is weakening the country.’ 72 -year -old Khan, who came to politics from cricket, has been in jail for more than two years in many cases. He said, ‘People (Munir & Company) who have stolen the mandate are frightened. Due to this fear, atrocities against us are increasing.
Try to break me: former PM
Khan also alleged that he and his wife Bushra Bibi are being kept in ‘secluded imprisonment’ and only mentally tortured in the hope that I will break and abandon my ideology. He said, ‘The real purpose of trying to break me is to suppress the voice of the people, this is the way that General Yahya Khan adopted the Dhaka in 1971 before losing.’
He said, ‘The only difference between 1971 and today is that now people are more aware. Social media has revealed all the facts to the public and people have learned to stand for their rights against atrocities.
Balochistan expressed grief over the bombings
The former Prime Minister said, ‘This is the reason that this repressive system will be terminated soon. The time has come to hear the voice of the people. Khan was removed from the post of Prime Minister in April 2022 through a no -confidence motion. Khan also strongly condemned the bomb blast at a rally held in Balochistan on the occasion of the death anniversary of Sardar Ataullah Mangal, in which at least 15 people were killed this week.
