While presenting the budget in the Assembly, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has made it clear that the government’s focus will be on increasing women’s participation, expanding safe transportation and facilities. Based on this, now in the state, if a person buys a car in the name of his wife, daughter or mother, then he will be given special exemption in registration. The government believes that this decision will increase the wealth in the name of women and they will get a chance to become financially empowered. Along with this, Haryana government has also announced to provide extra tax relief to promote electric vehicles. In such a situation, let us now tell you how much exemption will be given in registration if you buy a car in the name of your wife, daughter or mother in Haryana?

You will get this much discount on buying a car in the name of women

According to the budget announcement of the state government, 1 percent rebate in motor vehicle tax will be given on non-transport vehicles registered in the name of women. That means, if a woman buys a car or personal vehicle in her own name, she will get direct tax benefit at the time of registration. The government says that this will encourage more and more families to register vehicles in the name of women. To promote electric vehicles in the state, it has been decided to further increase the 20 percent motor vehicle tax exemption already available. This discount will be applicable on two wheelers, four wheelers, electric vehicles and e-rickshaws. The government’s objective with this decision is to reduce pollution and promote clean energy vehicles.

An automated vehicle training center will be set up in every district, while the existing centers in Rohtak will be upgraded. At the same time, a free citizen mobile phone will also be launched by 15 August 2026 to provide information about the location and timings of buses to the people.
