BJP Expels St Somashekar and a Shivaram Hebbar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), taking major disciplinary action, has expelled its two MLAs from Karnataka – ST Somasekhar and A Shivram Hebbar from the party for six years.
According to the report of news agency PTI, BJP’s Karnataka unit president BY Vijayendra said that both MLAs have been expelled due to their alleged anti -party activities. He said that the BJP high command has taken this decision after long deliberations. ST Somasekhar represents Yashwantpur in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and A Shivram Hebbar represents Yellapur.
Block cause notice was sent to legislators
Om Pathak, member secretary of the party’s Central Discipline Committee, has also sent an official letter to Hebbaar. According to him, this big step has been taken due to repeated violations of party discipline. The letter states that they have been expelled with immediate effect. The letter states, “The Central Disciplinary Committee of the party has considered your reply on the show cause notice on 25 March 2025 and has taken serious violation of your repeated violations of party discipline.”
It further stated, “According to this, it has been decided to expel you from the primary membership of the party for 6 years with immediate effect and you have been removed from any party post at present.” Earlier, BJP had expelled party MLA Basangora Patil Yatanal from the party for six years in March this year.
Was involved in BJP during Operation Lotus
Although both MLAs were ministers in the BJP government, but after the Congress came to power, Hebbar and Somasekhar separated from the party. He was earlier in Congress and joined BJP during the 2019 ‘Operation Lotus’.
