In one stroke, 80% of the workers were made jobs, the mistake was only refused to adopt AI

Artificial intelligence: Today, in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), people are being fired in many sectors. In the coming time, its scope is going to increase even more. Ignitetech’s CEO probably sensed its need. He took a big decision in the year 2023 and fired about 80 % of such employees from his company who refused to adopt AI.

The controversy had erupted due to his taken steps, but it reflects the difficult reality of this era of change. CEO Eric von still maintains his decision in 2023. In an interview given to Fortune, he said, it is very difficult to decide to trim a large scale employees, but still he will repeat it if needed.

‘AI MONDAY’ opposed to the company

According to the Times of India report, Vaughan described AI as a threat to business in 2023. After this he started ‘AI MONDAY’. That is, a day of the week, when all the staff had to focus on projects related to AI.

Hundreds of employees together protested this decree of the CEO. He also decided to remove them from work instead of persuading his workers. That is, either the work or job related to AI on Monday, according to Vaughan, the technical staff opposed the adoption of AI. Instead of adopting AI, these employees expressed concern about its limitations, while the people of the marketing and sales team started adopting the new training program without any hesitation.

The CEO put 20 percent of its salary on AI training programs. These included things like spending on AI tools and ‘Prompt Engineering Classes’. However, the employees vandalized the company instead of participating in it. Due to this protest, a large part of the employees in the company changed in 12 months.

Vaughan brought color

The company also started showing the benefit of this difficult change till 2024. Ignitetech launched two AI-anniversary, whose patent process is going on. Apart from this, the company also bought another company and earned about 75 % Ebitda from it. This shows that the rigorous steps taken by von are proving to be effective.

A research by AI platform Writer has also revealed that many other companies are also experienced like Von, where one-third of employees are harming the company’s plans for AI. 41 percent of Millennial and Generation Z are trying to avoid adopting AI. However, Vaughan does not want to advise other corporate leaders to take steps like himself. He says that he had no such plan already, but he had to take this decision in view of the opposition of the employees.
