IPL 2026 Mini Action: The mini auction for the Indian Premier League 2026 has ended on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. In this auction, five-time champion Chennai Super Kings was sitting on the auction table with the second largest purse. Chennai had Rs 43.40 crore for the auction. CSK bid on a total of 16 players in the auction, but were able to buy 9 players. In the mini auction held in Abu Dhabi, CSK made the highest bid on Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma, which was Rs 14.20 crore for both the uncapped players. Chennai had also placed a big bet on Cameron Green. CSK had bid up to Rs 25 crore with Kolkata Knight Riders, but ultimately KKR won and added Green for Rs 25.20 crore.

CSK had vacant slots for 9 players

A total of 9 players’ slots were vacant in the CSK team for IPL 2026, out of which there was space for 5 Indian and 4 foreign players. CSK included foreign players Matt Henry, Akil Hussain, Matthew Short and Zachary Foulkes in their team. At the same time, CSK has added 5 Indian players Prashant Veer, Karthik Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Rahul Chahar and Aman Khan. In the mini auction, CSK spent a total of Rs 41 crore to include these 9 players in their team. Even after this, Chennai was left with a purse of Rs 2.40 crore.
