Many times it is also in this fraud that someone ordered an expensive phone online, but soap came out in the compartment, some some got fake product and some are bad items. In such a situation, it is important that you are a little cautious, so let us know what should be kept in mind while shopping online so that you do not become a victim of any fraud.
What are the things to keep in mind to avoid fraud?
1. Always shop from trusted website – Always order online shopping from a well-known website. Many times scammers create fake websites which look like real, but their purpose is only to steal your data and money. Therefore, always check the URL of the website and see it https instead of http.
2. Avoid offers – If a website or link says that a phone of 50,000 is being available in 2,000, then understand something is wrong. Excessive discounts are often the method of fraud. These offers are often indicated by fraud. In such a situation, be a little cautious and do shopping from the official site or app.
3. Choose Open Box Delivery – Whenever possible, choose the option of open box delivery. In which the delivery agent opens the package in front of you. If any wrong or broken goods are released from this, then you can complain immediately.
4. Make a video of Unboxing – Make videos while opening the parcel. If there is a problem, this video can help you, which will ease the refund or replacement.
Choose 5 Cash on delivery (COD) – Select most cash on delivery options. With this, payment can be made after seeing the product. If there is a new website, then first get the goods from the cod.
6. Beware of social media links – Do not click on the link of cheap offers coming on Instagram or Facebook. These links can take you to fraud websites that can steal your bank details.
7. Do read ratings and reviews – Before ordering any product, read the rating and user review given below it. This will let you know how the quality of that product is and what was the experience of the rest.
8. Understand returns and refund policy – If a product turns out to be bad, then the return policy of the e-commerce site is necessary to return it. Before ordering, see whether you can return that product, or if the return is not possible, then the loss will be yours.
9. Compare bank offers and real prices – Many times companies increase the real price of the product and then show huge discounts on it. This makes you think that there is a lot of benefit, but in reality you are being cheated. Before shopping, check the price of that product on the official website or other platform of the brand.
