Even though the Indian Rupee is weak against the Dollar, Euro and Pound, there are some countries in the world where the Rupee is very strong. There is a country in Central Asia where people are surprised to hear the value of the Indian rupee. The name of this country is Uzbekistan. The currency of Uzbekistan is called Som and its value is much lower than the Indian Rupee. According to the report of Vice Dot, the value of 1 Indian Rupee is equal to 134 Uzbekistani Som.

If a person goes to Uzbekistan with one lakh rupees from India, then this amount gets converted into approximately 1 crore 34 lakh soms. The figure may seem big, but the prices there are also decided according to the local currency. The biggest reason for the greater strength of the Indian rupee in Uzbekistan is its weak currency and limited economy. This country is mainly dependent on cotton, gold and natural gas, whereas India’s economy is much larger and diversified. For this reason the Indian rupee appears stronger compared to other countries.

Increasingly popular among Indian tourists

Uzbekistan is becoming increasingly popular among Indian tourists. Cities like Tashkent and Samarkand are known for their historical buildings, old markets and magnificent architecture. Indians find facilities like hotels, taxis and shopping affordable, making the travel experience even better. Talking about food, the prices of milk, vegetables, fruits and grains are normal for the local people, but when seen in Indian Rupees these prices seem low. This is the reason why Indian tourists can travel there comfortably while staying within their budget.
