In the first ODI played in Brisbane, the Indian Under-19 team defeated Australia Under-19 team badly. Batting first, Australia was able to score 225 runs. Chasing the target, Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a fast start, after which wicket -keeper Batsman Abhigyan Kundu along with Vedanta Trivedi played an important role in winning India by 7 wickets. Abhigyan was adjudged the Player of the Match.

The Indian Under-19 team had a target of 226 runs to win. Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a fast start, he hit 7 fours and 1 six in an innings of 38 runs in 22 balls. Captain Ayush Mhatre was dismissed for just 6 runs, after which Vihan returned to the pavilion cheaply of Malhotra (9). After falling 3 wickets at 75, Vedanta Trivedi and Abhigyan Kundu played an unbeaten innings and won India in the 31st over.

Vedanta Trivedi scored an unbeaten 61 in 69 balls, in which he hit 8 fours. Abhigyan Kundu scored an unbeaten 87 in 74 balls, in this innings he hit 5 sixes and 8 fours. He was adjudged Player of the Match.
Earlier, Indian bowlers stopped Australia for 225 runs. Henil Patel took 3 wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs spell. Kishan Kumar and Kanishka Chauhan got 2-2 wickets, RS Ambrish got a success.
Second ODI will be played on Wednesday
The Indian Under-19 team will play 3 ODIs on the tour of Australia under the captaincy of Ayush Mhatre. The second ODI will be played on Wednesday, 24 September and third and last ODI on Friday, 26 September. Both will be played in ODI Brisbane. After this, 2 Test matches will also be played between the two teams. The first Test will be played in Brisbane between September 30 and October 3. The second test will be played between 7 and 10 October (in Great Barrier Reef Arena).
