In the first ODI being played in Perth, Team India, after batting first, scored 136 runs for 9 wickets. This match started with 50 overs, but due to rain at regular intervals, the overs kept getting cut. In the end a match of 26 overs was decided. Even though India scored 136 runs in 26 overs after playing first, Australia got the target of only 131 runs after DLS calculation.
In the first match of the three-match ODI series, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kangaroos wreaked havoc with the new ball. Rohit Sharma was out after scoring 08 runs with one four in 14 balls. The new ODI captain could score only 10 runs in 18 balls in his first match. Whereas Virat Kohli could not even open the account. Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer’s bat also did not work. Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs. Josh Hazlewood dismissed Rohit and Iyer. Whereas Mitchell Starc sent Kohli to the pavilion.
KL Rahul and Akshar Patel saved shame
India had lost 4 big wickets for just 45 runs in 13.2 overs. Then KL Rahul and Akshar Patel saved the honor of Team India. Akshar scored 31 runs in 38 balls with the help of three fours. Whereas KL Rahul played an explosive inning of 38 runs in just 31 balls. Two fours and two sixes came from Rahul’s bat.
Washington Sundar, playing at number seven, scored 10 runs in 10 balls with the help of one four. In the end, Nitish Reddy played an unbeaten inning of 19 runs with the help of two sixes in 11 balls and took the team’s score beyond 130.
Matthew Kunhman, Mitchell Owen and Josh Hazlewood took 2-2 wickets for Australia. Whereas Mitchell Starc and Nathan Ellis took one wicket each. A total of six players bowled for Australia.
