IND vs Eng Test Series 2025 Sourav Ganguly Slams Team Selers for Not Selecting Shreyas Iyer

IND vs Eng Test Series: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed displeasure over the selection of the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against England. He has reacted strongly to the middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer not getting a place in the team, especially. Ganguly believes that he should have included the way Iyer has performed in the last year.

Ganguly expressed disagreement

During an interview given to Revspports, Sourav Ganguly said that Iyer has done well in the last year and batted responsibly in difficult circumstances. He has also performed brilliantly in the team as a captain.

He said, “Shreyas Iyer has impressed everyone with his performance in the last one year. He is also scoring runs under pressure and is also facing challenges like short balls well. I know playing in Test format is different, but his best performance could not have been ignored. I would have given him a chance to play in this Test series if I was the selector.”

Ganguly’s statement clearly indicates that he is not happy with the decision of the selection committee. Iyer was not included in the Indian team announced under the leadership of Ajit Agarkar, which was a shocking decision for many cricket fans and experts.

What did Ganguly say about India’s victory?

When Ganguly was asked if the young Indian team of this time could win the Test series in England, he said, “We can win completely from England, if the team’s batting was good and Jaspreet Bumrah also remains fit, India could definitely capture this series. We had also defeated a strong team in Australia, that too when there was no hope from this young team like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. May go.”
