IND vs Engbaston Test Harry Brook Mind Game to Stop Shubman Gill 269 Run Out Triple Century

Ind vs eng 2nd test: On the second day of Edgbaston Test, Shubman Gill made history by batting tremendously. The young captain of India scored several records against England, hitting a double century. He became the first Asian captain to score a double century in England, as well as the first batsman to score the biggest score outside Asia, but when Gill was just 31 runs away from the first triple century of his career, then England ran a poor trick on the field and Gill’s dream broke.

Harry Brook played Mind Game

After lunch on the second day, Shoaib was standing in the English player Harry Brook Slip during Bashir’s bowling. He started mentioning a triple century in a joke with Shubman Gill. This attempt to create mental pressure on Gill was also captured in the stump mike. During this, Gill was also found twice giving Harry giving some reply.

Former England captain Mike Atherton, who was commenting at the time, revealed that Brook told Gill, “It is the most challenging to score 290 runs … How many triple centuries do you have?” This is the same brook who scored a triple century in the Multan Test against Pakistan in 2024.

A small mistake, and the dream of triple century incomplete

Brook’s words broke Gill’s concentration and the result came out in the next over. In the next innings after lunch, Gill Josh went to play the bridge shot on a short ball of Tung but could not take time for the ball due to physical exhaustion. The ball fell from the inner edge of the bat and fell into the hands of Oli Pope standing on the square leg and Gill’s brilliant innings ended for 269 runs.

Gill missed history

If Shubman Gill had completed this triple century, then many big records would have been in his name like

-First Shubman would have become the first foreign captain to score a triple century in England.

-Secondly he would have been the first captain to do so after 1964. Before this, Bill Simpson of Australia did this feat in Old Trafford.

Thirty -third, Gill would have been the first Indian players to score a triple century outside Asia.

Shubman’s highest score in first class cricket was 268 runs earlier, which he made against Tamil Nadu in 2018/19 in Mohali.
