Impermeable security arrangements have been made in Ahmedabad ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final between India and New Zealand. According to Ahmedabad Police, a large number of police forces have been deployed in the stadium and its surrounding areas. Many new arrangements have also been implemented to prevent any kind of chaos during the match.
According to police officials, special arrangements have been made for security in the entire stadium complex. For the first time, a ‘holding area’ has been created to control the crowd so that spectators arriving in large numbers at once can be sent inside in an organized manner.
Instructions have been given to take strict action against people trying to forcibly enter the ground and those doing black marketing of tickets. Police has made it clear that immediate action will be taken against those who violate security rules.

Deploying large number of police forces
According to Ahmedabad City Joint Commissioner of Police Neeraj Kumar Badgujar, extensive police arrangements have been made for the match. According to ANI, he told that more than 121 police officers and more than 2000 policemen will be deployed on duty. In view of the possibility of large crowd at Gate No. 1 and 2, special barricading has been done there. Additionally, additional deployment of police officers has been made so that the spectators do not have to face any kind of trouble.
Special focus on CCTV and VVIP security
More than 300 CCTV cameras have been installed in the stadium premises for security monitoring. Through these cameras, the entire match event and activities of the spectators will be monitored. Apart from this, special arrangements have also been made for the safety of VVIP guests. According to the police, a large number of spectators from different cities will reach Ahmedabad to watch the match. In such a situation, traffic police have also been deployed in large numbers and traffic diversions have been implemented at many places.
Arrangements at metro stations and roads also
Police said that there is a possibility of increase in crowd in metro stations and surrounding areas on the day of the match. In view of this, arrangements for additional police force and barricading have been made there also. The administration says that the purpose of all these security arrangements is to allow the spectators to enjoy the match in a safe and orderly environment. The police are continuously monitoring so that no security challenge arises during the match.
