Sultan of Johor Cup 2025 started on 11 October, in which the Indian team has won both its matches so far. Tomorrow’s India vs Pakistan match has come into controversy even before it takes place. Pakistan Hockey Federation has forbidden its national hockey team players from coming in front of Indian players. After ‘Operation Sindoor’, Indian players did not join hands with Pakistani players in the cricket tournament Asia Cup. Pakistan Cricket Board had complained about this to ACC and ICC.
The Indian junior hockey team can also do the same in the match against Pakistan to be held on October 14. A senior official of Pakistan Hockey Federation said that Pakistani players are already prepared for the situation of Indian team not shaking hands. Pakistani players have been instructed to ignore ‘no handshake’ even if it happens. Besides, Pakistani players have also been prohibited from making any kind of gesture or even hitting them.
The Indian team had defeated Great Britain 3-2 in its first match and had won 4-2 over New Zealand in the second match. On the other hand, if we talk about Pakistan, it had defeated Malaysia 7-2 in its first match. In the second match, it lost 5-1 at the hands of Great Britain.
Condition of India and Pakistan in points table
A total of 6 teams are playing in the 2025 Sultan of Johor Cup. India is currently at the first position in the points table after winning both its matches. Australia has collected 4 points with one win and one draw, which is second in the table. Great Britain and Pakistan are at third and fourth position. Malaysia is hosting this tournament, which has not yet opened its winning account. New Zealand, which has lost both the matches, is currently at the last position in the table.
