India Semifinal Qualification Scenario U19 World Cup: The match between India and Pakistan in the Under-19 World Cup 2026 is being played in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe). In the match, the Indian team is batting first, if Pakistan wants to go to the semi-finals, then it will have to chase the target by scoring runs very fast. This India-Pakistan match is no less than a quarterfinal, because its winner will become the fourth team to go to the World Cup semi-finals. Till now Australia, England and Afghanistan have confirmed their place in the last-4.

If India defeats the Pakistan team then it will directly enter the semi-finals. Even if Team India loses, its hopes of going to the semi-finals will not end because if India loses, the entire game will be about net run-rate. The International Cricket Council itself explained the entire equation in detail as to how many balls Pakistan will have to achieve the target against Team India.

Pakistan will have to chase the target in this many overs.

ICC had released the equation before the start of the Super-6 match. According to him, if Pakistan team bats first, it will have to win by a margin of 105 runs. Since Team India is batting first, this equation will not apply.

Suppose if Team India sets a target of 251 runs for Pakistan, then Pakistan team will have to chase the target in 29.4 overs. Whereas if the target is smaller than this, then Pakistan will have to achieve the target sooner than 29.4 overs.

Huge difference in net run-rate

England has already reached the semi-finals from Group 2 of the Super-6 stage. Currently, India is second and Pakistan is third in the table. Team India has 6 points and its net run-rate is +3.337. Whereas Pakistan has 4 points and its net run-rate is +1.484. Therefore, even if Team India loses this match by a small margin, its semi-final ticket will be cut.
