IND vs PAK: India has almost confirmed its place in the Super-8 by registering another memorable win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026. In this great match, India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs. Team India, under the leadership of captain Suryakumar Yadav, performed brilliantly in this high-voltage match played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Batting first, India put 175 runs on the board in 20 overs. This score was also India’s biggest score so far in the T20 World Cup against Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav’s fighting innings
After Ishaan’s dismissal, captain Suryakumar Yadav took over the innings. He batted intelligently in the middle overs and partnered with Tilak Verma to help the team cross 170. Surya scored an inning of 32 runs in 29 balls, which proved to be very important for the team.
Hardik showed his strength with the ball
The bowlers gave a great start to the Indian team which came to defend the target of 175 runs. Hardik Pandya gave initial success to the team by dismissing Pakistan’s opener in his very first over. He took 2 wickets for just 16 runs in 3 overs and did not give the batsmen a chance to play freely.
Bumrah’s deadly spell
After this, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah pushed Pakistan’s batting on the backfoot by taking two consecutive wickets in the form of Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha in his spell. His performance put a brake on Pakistan’s run rate.
Akshar’s spin ended hopes
Spinner Akshar Patel also did wonders in the middle overs. He strengthened India’s hold on the match by dismissing Pakistan’s leading batsmen. Apart from this, Varun Chakraborty also put the match completely in India’s bag by taking two wickets in a single over.
The entire Pakistan team was reduced to 114 runs in front of the Indian bowlers. With this victory, India not only took lead in its group but also made the path to reach Super-8 easier. Now Team India’s next match will be played against Netherlands on 18th February at Narendra Modi Stadium.
