But before that, some law students had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to cancel the Indo-Pak match. It was said in the argument that after the Pahalgam attack, it is equivalent to insulting the people and the soldiers of the Indian Army who were martyred after the Pahalgam attack.
Will India-Pakistan match be canceled?
Now on Thursday, the Supreme Court has rejected this argument. Four law students had filed a petition under the leadership of Urvashi Jain. Urvashi was presented to Justice JK Maheshwari and Vijay Bishnoi, but the Supreme Court ordered that the match should not be stopped.
The petitioners’ counsel demanded the list to be listed for Friday. The match is to be played on Sunday, September 14. But the Supreme Court bench said, “The match should not be stopped.” On the other hand, the lawyer again demanded that the case be listed at least, but the bench of the Supreme Court flatly refused.
What was the plea?
The argument said that India-Pakistan match after Pahalgam terror attack and operation vermilion is going to hurt the dignity of the nation and this will insult the Indian soldiers and those who lost their lives. It was said in the argument that cricket should not be kept above the national interest.
