IND vs SA 2nd Test: The second Test between India and South Africa is to be played in Guwahati from 22nd November. Before that, Team India has suffered a big setback. It is almost certainly being said that it will be difficult for team captain Shubhman Gill to play in this test. He suffered severe neck spasm during the Kolkata Test, due to which he was also admitted to the hospital. It is now being claimed that Gill will not attend the practice session at Eden Gardens on November 18 and his recovery may take 5 to 7 days.
According to sources, it is also not decided whether Shubman Gill will leave for Guwahati with the team or not. In such a situation, in case of his absence, Rishabh Pant can captain in the second test. The team management will take this decision after looking at the situation, but the indications are clear that India is ready to make a major reshuffle in the playing XI.

BCCI has officially re-inducted young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy into the Test team. He was released before the Eden Gardens Test so that he could be a part of the India A team. When Gill’s availability in the Guwahati Test was doubtful, the selectors immediately recalled Reddy.
Reddy will join the team’s optional training session on November 18. It is clear from his presence in the team that India is going to make changes in the playing eleven. If Gill remains out, Nitish Reddy may get a chance directly in the playing XI.
