Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal said on Wednesday that he starts feeling uncomfortable when Rohit Sharma does not scold any of his favorite junior players on the field because the former captain’s scoldings are always full of pampering and love.
When Rohit was India’s Test captain, he became famous for his humorous take on the fielding mistakes of players on the field, which is now quite popular as a ‘meme’.
Jaiswal said in the ‘Agenda Aaj Tak’ conference, “Whenever Rohit bhaiya scolds us, there is a lot of affection and love hidden in it. To be honest, if Rohit bhaiya is not scolding then it seems that something is wrong, what happened, why is he not scolding? Did he feel bad about anything I said? ,
Jaiswal formed big partnerships with both Virat Kohli and Rohit during his maiden ODI century in Visakhapatnam. He told how his presence changes the atmosphere of the dressing room.
He said, “When both of them (Ro-Ko, Rohit-Kohli) are there, it is very good for us because they discuss the game and share their experiences. The way he has played and won matches for India, he is an inspiration for us. They tell us what mistakes they made in their younger days and how we can avoid them. ,
Jaiswal said, “When he is not there, we miss him.” When they are there the atmosphere becomes relaxed. While playing the third ODI, Rohit bhaiya told me to be patient, take time and he himself would take risks, how many people would do that? Similarly, Virat Paaji gave me small targets and said that we have to win this match. ,
Jaiswal said that his first ODI century felt as special to him as the Oval Test century. When asked if he thought about making a place in the T20 World Cup squad, he said, “My dream is to play the T20 World Cup, but I try to focus on my game and will wait for my time.” ,
On whether he can captain India in future, Jaiswal said, “If I get a chance, I would like to captain India.” ,
