On the second day, South Africa increased its score to 247/6. Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreyen together made 88 runs, after which Muthusamy made a partnership of 97 runs with Marco Jansen. On one hand, Muthusamy played an inning of 109 runs and Jansen played an inning of 93 runs. On the second day, Africa added 242 runs in its innings.

Jansen, in particular, was a heavy burden on the Indian bowlers. He played a big inning of 93 runs, but he played this innings at a strike rate of 102. In this innings he hit 6 fours and 7 sixes.

On the other hand, the Indian bowlers proved to be a complete failure on the second day. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj gave away more than 100 runs. India still 480 runs behind
