The Indian team has won the title of Women’s World Cup 2025. Team India, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, has created history by winning its first ICC title. In the final played at DY Patil Stadium, the Indian team became the world champion by defeating South Africa by 52 runs. Shefali Verma, who played an explosive inning of 87 runs and took 2 wickets in the final, was chosen as the player of the match.

Deepti Sharma was chosen Player of the Series. Deepti took 22 wickets in 9 matches of the World Cup and scored 215 runs with 3 half-centuries in 7 innings.

Talking about the match, after losing the toss, the Indian team, batting first, scored 298 runs for 7 wickets. Shefali Verma was the top scorer by scoring 87 runs in 78 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Shefali made a partnership of 104 runs with Mandhana 45 for the first wicket. Apart from this, Deepti Sharma scored 58 runs on 58 balls, Richa Ghosh scored 34 runs on 24 balls, Jemimah Rodrigues scored 24 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur scored 20 runs.

Captain and opener Laura Wolvaardt scored a century for South Africa while chasing the target of 299 runs. He played an innings of 101 runs in 98 balls with the help of 11 fours and 1 six. Apart from Wolvaardt, no big innings came from any batsman. Anne Dirksen scored 35 runs, Sun Loos scored 25 runs and Tanzim Brits scored 23 runs. South Africa was all out for 46 runs in 45.3 overs and lost the match by 52 runs.

Deepti Sharma bowled memorable for India. This right-arm spinner took 5 wickets for 39 runs in 9.3 overs. Shefali Verma 2 and N. Charani took 1 wicket.
